We usually plan an early departure, carry packed meals and choose a route that works with your accommodation and interests. A full-day outing does not have to begin at 10:00 AM or follow a universal timetable.

Some animals may rest during hotter hours, but wildlife viewing does not stop at midday. Full-day drives allow time for changing sightings and habitats.

Night Game Drives in Masai Mara
Night game drives require a suitable conservancy stay and participating property. They should not be included as an ordinary activity inside Masai Mara National Reserve, including the Mara Triangle.
Properties such as Mara Bushtops offer night-drive experiences under their own arrangements. Availability, duration, guest access and charges depend on the selected property.
A night outing offers a different perspective on wildlife activity. It does not guarantee sightings of leopards, porcupines or other nocturnal animals.

We confirm the seating arrangement and vehicle configuration for your safari. For road packages, we also consider luggage alongside passenger space.
Open-Sided Safari Vehicles
Open-sided vehicles are used by some camps for local game drives, including in reserve and conservancy settings where their operation is permitted.
They are not exclusively conservancy vehicles. Availability depends on the camp, route and booking arrangement.
For longer transfers, protection from weather and dust may be a useful consideration when comparing configurations.
Photography Arrangements
Photographers may benefit from fewer passengers and more space for equipment.

Safari vans vary in configuration, including their drive system. It is inaccurate to assume that every safari van is two-wheel drive.
