Our Assessment of Soroi Mara Bush Camp
Soroi Mara Bush Camp is worth considering if you want a comfortable reserve base with practical access and a traditional tented safari atmosphere.
The short airstrip transfer is useful for flying visitors, particularly families who want to keep the final journey manageable. The family tents also provide an option for guests who prefer to stay together rather than book separate accommodation.
For photographers, the camp’s facilities are an additional attraction, but the guiding and vehicle arrangement matter just as much. We recommend checking equipment availability and allowing enough nights to spend time at sightings.
Choose the camp for the complete combination of location, accommodation and safari arrangements. Proximity to wildlife areas does not guarantee a particular animal or river crossing.
Best For
- Families seeking tented accommodation inside the reserve.
- Couples who enjoy a riverside bush setting.
- Flying visitors who prefer a short airstrip transfer.
- Photographers wanting suitable guiding and equipment options.
- Guests planning several nights of reserve wildlife viewing.
Consider Another Property If
Night drives or extended walking safaris are central to your holiday. These require separately confirmed locations and permissions.
If particular leisure facilities are essential, tell us before booking so we can check the camp against your requirements.

Flying Safari Arrangements
Fly from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Ol Kiombo Airstrip, followed by a short transfer to camp.

Your quotation states whether the vehicle is shared or exclusive.
Private Road Safari Arrangements

A road safari can work well for families and friends sharing the vehicle cost, or when combining the Mara with other destinations. We plan your arrival and wildlife outings around the camp’s location.

Tented Accommodation
Soroi Mara Bush Camp offers 10 standard tents and two family tents, with private verandas for relaxing between outings.
Tent Features
- En-suite bathroom with an indoor shower.
- Comfortable beds, with configuration confirmed when booking.
- Private veranda.
- Natural ventilation and ceiling fans.
- Tea and coffee facilities.
- Toiletries.
- Wi-Fi.
Share your preferred double or twin arrangement, together with any accessibility requirements, before we confirm your tent.
Family Tents and Safaris with Children
The camp’s two family tents accommodate up to four guests each, subject to the appropriate bed arrangement.
We plan family stays around:
- Children’s ages at the time of travel.
- Suitable tent occupancy and sleeping arrangements.
- Meal preferences and dietary requirements.
- Comfortable game-drive duration and rest breaks.
- Shared or exclusive vehicle use.
- Restrictions on optional activities.
Children are welcome, but supervision remains essential in a wildlife setting. Families should follow staff guidance around camp and use escorts whenever instructed.
Ask about any children’s learning activities available during your stay. Their programme, supervision and participation conditions should be confirmed rather than assumed.
Dining and Drinks
Full-board accommodation includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Tell us about allergies, vegetarian preferences or other dietary requirements when enquiring. For longer wildlife outings, we check whether packed meals can be arranged.
The camp has a stocked bar, but drinks should not automatically be treated as included. Your quotation identifies the beverage selection covered by your package.
Special meals and private dining are requested separately.
Photography Facilities
Soroi Mara Bush Camp has a dedicated photo lounge, with photography equipment rentals available.
Before relying on rental equipment, we check the camera bodies, lenses, availability, charges and borrowing conditions. Specialist photographic assistance can also be requested.
If you bring your own equipment, tell us about it before selecting transport. Camera bags, long lenses and the number of photographers influence vehicle space and flight baggage planning.
Facilities and Services
Facilities and services include comfortable shared dining and relaxation areas, a bar, Wi-Fi and photography facilities.
Laundry is available at an additional charge unless your confirmed offer includes it. Requested treatments and other personal services should also be checked for availability and cost.
For guests with mobility requirements, we confirm access to the tent, paths, dining area and safari vehicle before booking.
Getting to Soroi Mara Bush Camp

By Road
Allow a substantial part of the day for private road travel from Nairobi. Journey time depends on your collection point, traffic, weather and final approach.
We plan the route around the camp’s location and the agreed arrival programme.
Compare Nairobi to Masai Mara Travel Options
Choosing the Correct Soroi Property
Soroi Mara Bush Camp should be distinguished from other Soroi accommodation, including Soroi Mara Bush Camp Private Wing and Soroi Luxury Migration Camp.
When comparing offers, check the exact property name, tent category, facilities and package inclusions. Photographs and reviews for one property should not be presented as belonging to another.
Other Camps to Compare
Depending on your priorities, we can also consider:
- Entim Mara Camp — another reserve camp to compare for your itinerary.
- Entim Private Camp — spacious suites, family accommodation and a swimming pool.
- Mara Ngenche Safari Camp — a luxury riverside option with private plunge pools.
- Sarova Mara Game Camp — an established alternative for a family stay.

We had the best experience. Everything was really great. We booked a tour from Nairobi to lake Nakuru and then to Masaai Mara and back to Nairobi. Our guide and driver Brian was very well educated and told us a lot about the animals and plants we were able to spot. He was also a very experienced driver. In the Mara we saw a lot of cars got stuck in the mudd because of the rain the day before. The camps the holiday dealers recommended us were great. The food was very delicious, the staff was very polite and the rooms were nice. We spotted a lot of different animals and of course the big five. Thanks to the Team of The holiday dealers - the whole trip was a unforgettable journey for our whole family.Posted on Google![]()

It is now over a decade since i started using The Holiday Dealers to plan my tours and travels. Not a single day have they disaspointed me. They have remained consistent and professional in their service delivery. Over the years, they have personaized my trips, to suit my needs and expectations of a perfect vacation. From sourcing for family based hotels like Voyager and Baobab resorts to romantic getaways like Finch Hattons Mahali Mzuri and Bluff lodges etc, the Holiday Dealers have no doubt mastered their craft. They will take you from the bush to the beach without breaking a sweat. Last festive season, Holiday Dealers successfuly planned my trip to Nothern and Central parts of Kenya. We were assigned a highly qualified, professional and well informed tour guide and driver who gave us limitless guided game drives of the breathtaking landscapes of Samburu. In particular we visited the Buffalo Springs National Reserve and Shaba Game Reserve. While there watch out for the Duom palm, grevy’s Zebra and the Orynx. We wound up our trip at the luxurious Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari club. In the morning, we would wake up to perfect views of amazing sunrise from the top of Mt. Kenya. The location of the club is just perfect. We were also lucky to see the endangered mountain bongo, some Llamas and other animals at the animal orphanage. Your Four-Day / Three-Night Stay
Day 1: Arrive in the Mara
Travel by road or fly to Ol Kiombo Airstrip and transfer to camp. Settle into your tent before an afternoon outing, where arrival time allows.
Day 2: Explore the Wildlife Areas
Enjoy a morning game drive, followed by meals and time at camp. Head out again in the afternoon under your agreed programme.
Day 3: Plan Around Your Interests
Choose a longer wildlife outing or separate morning and afternoon drives. Photography, birdwatching or a pre-booked optional experience can shape the day.
Day 4: Departure
Enjoy breakfast before your transfer or road departure. Any morning game drive must fit your travel schedule and included park admission.
Activities to Consider
Guided Game Drives
Game drives explore the reserve’s different wildlife habitats.
Morning and afternoon outings suit many guests, while longer drives can be planned with packed meals where appropriate. Your guide adapts the programme to conditions, interests and reserve rules.
Private vehicle use is particularly useful for families and photographers who want more flexibility.
Great Migration Viewing
Migrating herds are usually associated with the Kenyan Mara between July and October, although their movements vary with rainfall and grazing.
The Olare Orok River is distinct from the Mara River, where many well-known migration crossings occur. Your guide plans the route according to current herd movements and accessible viewing areas.
No camp, guide or itinerary can guarantee a crossing.
Birdwatching and Wildlife Photography
Riverine vegetation and open grasslands offer different subjects for observation and photography.
Tell us if birds or photography are priorities so we can consider guiding, vehicle space, time at sightings and your length of stay.
Hot-Air Balloon Safaris
An optional sunrise balloon flight provides an aerial perspective of the plains, usually followed by breakfast.
We confirm pickup arrangements, availability, age restrictions and operator conditions before booking.
Maasai Community Visits
A community visit offers an opportunity to learn from local hosts about traditions and everyday life.
We explain the arrangements and costs beforehand. Follow your hosts’ guidance and ask permission before photographing people.
Sundowners and Bush Dining
Ask about a sundowner, bush meal or special dining arrangement if you would like one included.
Availability depends on weather, permitted locations and the camp’s programme. Any additional cost is explained in your quotation.
Guided Walking Experiences
Walking experiences require confirmation of the specific location, permissions and guiding arrangements.
A reference to bush walks should not be interpreted as permission to walk freely inside the reserve. We check the duration, terrain and age restrictions for any requested outing.
Night Game Drives
Ordinary night game drives are not part of a main-reserve safari programme. If they are a priority, we can compare a suitable conservancy stay or check a separately permitted arrangement.
