Wildlife behaviour, light and conditions change. Returning to an area can produce a different experience, especially for photographers and guests who enjoy patient observation.

Road or Flying: How It Changes Your Recommended Stay
Travelling by Road
The Nairobi journey uses a substantial part of your arrival and departure days.
For this reason, three nights are our usual starting recommendation for a first road safari. Four nights can provide a more relaxed balance when wildlife is your main holiday priority.
Travelling by Air
Flying reduces the main transfer time, making a two-night stay more practical.
However, three nights still provide an additional full day. We select flights, airstrip transfers and accommodation together.

We usually recommend one well-chosen base.
Moving accommodation can use valuable time that would otherwise be available for wildlife viewing or relaxation.
For Four or Five Nights
A split stay may be worthwhile when the two locations offer a clear difference.
For example, combining reserve accommodation with a conservancy stay can provide different surroundings and activities. However, transfers, guiding arrangements and fees must work together.
We recommend changing camps because it improves your holiday—not simply because more properties fit into the itinerary.
