The lodge is on the western side of the National Reserve. The Mara Triangle is part of the Reserve, rather than a private conservancy.

Mara Serena Dining and Full-Board Meals

The lodge has a restaurant and bar, with special experiences such as bush dining and a Hippo Pool Breakfast available to consider alongside your stay.
For a longer day exploring the Mara, we coordinate meal arrangements with the route. Returning to the lodge for every meal may not suit the safari programme you want.

Mara Serena offers a swimming pool, Maisha Spa & Gym and Wi-Fi.
A three-night stay gives you opportunities to enjoy the lodge between outings. You can choose a more relaxed daily programme rather than spending every available hour in a vehicle.

Flying Safari
Your flying package includes a dedicated local guide and a private 4×4 Land Cruiser for your game drives in the Mara. The vehicle is reserved exclusively for you and your party.
Your guide plans the outings around your interests, wildlife activity and conditions, giving you flexibility to spend more time at sightings and explore at your own pace within park rules.
What Can You Expect to See?
The Mara is known for its varied wildlife, including big cats and large grazing herds. Sightings depend on conditions, location and time.
We encourage a safari that allows patient observation. Watching behaviour, exploring habitats and understanding the landscape can be as rewarding as finding a particular animal.
No specific wildlife sighting or river crossing can be guaranteed.

Day 1: Nairobi to Mara Serena
By road: We collect you from the agreed Nairobi location and travel in your private Land Cruiser. We plan stops and allow realistic time to reach the lodge. Arrival-day safari time depends on the journey and entry arrangements.
By air: Fly from Wilson Airport to the confirmed Mara airstrip and transfer to the lodge. Any afternoon activity follows your confirmed flight and lodge programme.
Settle into your room and enjoy your first evening in the Mara.
Overnight: Mara Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Explore the Mara
Enjoy wildlife viewing under your agreed safari programme.
Private road guests explore with their own vehicle and guide. Flying guests join the drives included in their package, unless a private upgrade has been arranged.
